We cannot overstate how handy it is to have a mirror of this kind on your ride. Especially if you are riding with a group. You can easily keep track of your group & make sure you don’t drop anyone!
A cycling mirror added to a handlebar can be cumbersome & add to the difficulty of riding in an urban environment. In fact we commonly see broken mirrors that are attached to the ends of handlebars. Weaving through cars will put your handlebar mirror at risk!
There is no such issue with a small helmet mirror however.
