Connecting your dynamo hub to your lighting system requires a small hub connector, and this connection needs to match your brand of hub. If you have a Shimano hub & want to connect a Busch und Muller lighting system you will need a connector, and the same goes for connecting to a Shutter Precision (SP) hub.
Your Dynamo light should come complete with all the other parts you need. Namely the light itself, the mounting bracket – whether for the front or back of your bike. And your light should also come with the required loom or electrical cables. Ideally your dynamo hub should come with the connectors required too! But if you are mixing & matching systems (like many of us do) then you are likely to need a connector.
